Wine and agriculture have been an essential part of the history of Casignano for more than 1,000 years. Since 1981 the Zappa family is proud to have become part of this history, living in Casignano while cultivating its rich land and restoring its beautiful, historical buildings. Borgo Casignano is a producer of organic wine and a heaven for what we Italians call agriturismo, that is, “green” tourism: a commitment to respect nature and to preserve the beauty of Tuscan traditions. We are located in the Chianti Mountains at an elevation of about 400 meters (1,300 ft), and the estate comprises 60 hectares (150 acres) of vineyards, olive groves, orchards, and gardens.

Adjacent to the property are miles of hiking trails winding through the surrounding woods and mountains. For more than 25 years Borgo Casignano has been a symbol of wine culture and tourism. The grapes we cultivate are used to produce exclusively our own wines. The vineyards are more than 80% of indigenous origin. The authenticity and care we take in our wine production is fundamental to the quality we offer. For us it is of the utmost importance to reach a balance between nature, traditions, recyclable materials, and the most modern techniques of wine-making…all while offering you a dream-filled holiday away from home!
